Hemp Milk

Yields

2.5 cups

Ingredients

Unsweetened:

3 cups filtered water

1 cup raw shelled hemp seeds

pinch sea salt


For sweetened: 

Add 3 to 6 pitted dates, or 2 to 3 tbsp of sweetener such as maple syrup

1 tsp of vanilla extract

1 tbsp sunflower lecithin (optional for consistency)


For chocolate:

2 or more tbsp of raw cacao powder


For strawberry:

2 cups or more strawberries

Directions

Blend water, seeds, and salt in a high-powered blender for about 1 minute.

This can be strained into a mason jar or other contrainer using a nut milk bag (or sheer hosiery). Close the bad and twist to ring out the liquid.

If adding sweetner or other flavors, put back into the blender (but rinse first). Add ingredients and blend till smooth.

Refriegerate and use within 3 days.

Notes

This can be used with smoothies or in baked goods that call for milk. I advise avoiding seed milks that contain carrageenan.
